THE OXFORD DICTIONARY OF PHRASE AND FABLE. (2009). Elizabeth Knowles (ed.) *****.I have often confessed to my attraction to reference books. It probably stems from something in my childhood. This volume from Oxford Press is a jewel. As my wife and I were returning from the used book store where I found this treasure, I began to leaf through this tome, reading excerpts at random. I found that our normal forty-minute car ride went by in what seemed like ten minutes. I am tempted to keep this book [...]

Stumbled upon this resource at the library about six weeks ago and loved it. It's basically a dictionary of allusions, which was great to thumb through. This is nerdy, I know, but I really want my own copy of this.
