Out of the many triathlon books I checked out of the library this one is by far the best if you are a beginner. It is enough information but not too much for the average person to go from couch potato to training to run their first sprint triathlon. It covers all the basics from gear, nutrition, to technique without overwhelming the reader. It is a fantastic starting point.

VERY basic. I would say this book is really aimed toward people who don't really do physical activity, possibly never have, and have decided that they want to do a triathlon. There is a little but of info for those who have an athletic history, but I really didn't feel like I had gained much knowledge.

This is the second triathlon book that I've read. (I'm taking an academic approach to my triathlon!) Overall - it's very instructive and helpful.

I found this to be a great beginner's book. In fact, I changed the plan I'm using to follow the 12 week plan in this book, and I'm much happier with it.
