Will do book review over weekend!ARC Received via Netgalley for honest opinion P&M Blog = Book Monsters: bookmonstersblog/Mine coyoteuglyswaggerbookblog.wor (¯`v´¯)♥♥Time to put on my reading glassesOH MY Netgalley is as addictive as GR - I asked for too many books – But I love things that are free, and this ARC's reading is actually fun :D Thank you author for trusting me with your novel :D

-So many things I love in a romance: I love older, experienced heroes and heroines in my romances. There’s something about people who lived their lives and find love later on that gives a richness to their romance. Add to that some quirky, well drawn characters, and a focus on the story, not the big action-y bits and this is smack dab in the middle of my wheelhouse. I was jamming right along with Will and Caroline’s romance. Ms. Antonelli has a distinct storytelling style that makes for an i [...]

It's been a very long time since I had myself a fix of Sandra Antonelli and her smart-ass, over 40 characters, and I've missed it! Missed it I say!So I was stoked to find NEXT TO YOU, and I read it in two nights, snuggled in my pjs in front of the fire.As always, there are some lovely odd-ball characters who never fit a stereotype, (except for an Antonelli stereotype). There is William Murphy, the suit-clad, old movie & music-loving Albino, who 'bumps into' Caroline when there's a coffee spi [...]

Wonderfully different, immensely entertaining, and replete with intelligent & interesting characters…d Batman!A little darker than usual Antonelli fare, Next to You still has the signature smart-arsery and delicious humour that we’ve all grown to love.In general when it comes to her books, and particularly with this one, I absolutely love that not only is Sandra not afraid to bring us characters that are a touch more silver than standard, she is also not afraid of creating characters tha [...]

William Murphy is a very interesting non stereotypical hero. He's mid 50s, divorced and has albinism. He also loves 80s bubblegum music and retro movies. I have to say I really liked him. He is matched with the damaged and vulnerable heroine, Caroline, and Sandra Antonelli delivers snarky, smart dialogue. There is also Batman, Caro's dog and a key player in this delightful story. Without giving spoilers, suffice it to say that several twists will keep you reading. Perhaps not for those who prefe [...]

This book made me laugh very much! Caroline has gone through so much in her life so she's grabbing life by the balls and trying to move on Caroline meets her neighbor Will who loves to wear suits and has a motorcycle and still sleeps with his ex that has been his ex for a long time. Well put Caroline and Will in a room and it's a old movie time! Drama, very funny and little romance to it is this book in a nut shell the ending made me laugh I'm hoping there is more to the story 5/5 stars I receiv [...]

There are times Will's body parts do the talking, and Caroine, she doesn't mind one but, "he kicked the pants off, and stood before her, his p***s level with her face. She giggled. ‘Is that a request?’ I liked this book, liked Will and liked that Will was a persistent man.

I had some fun with this book.cially with Caroline with trying to put her past behind herI would love to thank the Author Sandra Antonelli for doing what you do for us Readers:) Will definitely be back to read more:) Enjoy your Summer :)

Initially I really liked the romance in this book. Will and Caroline are good characters and I was enjoying their story. One problem that I had was that there was an unexpected cheating at least a gray area. It kind of ruined the book for me I guess. I’ve read books with cheating in them before and it changes a story but for some reason I was not able to let go of it in this book. Then it could have also been the ending. Sometimes you finish a book and can’t figure out what derailed the stor [...]

Sandra Antonelli is a new-to-me author and I was intrigued by the book blurb and that the two main characters are in the 40-50+ year range. This is such a quirky story with a clever storyline. There are small details provided about Caroline and I began to think I knew what had happened, but between the twists and turns, it was quite different. I got a little anxious at times wondering if an assault would happen, based on the thoughts of one character.I loved William with his kindness, almost cour [...]

I'm sorry you'll only get to read this book for the first time once because the discoveries you make along the way are immense.I'm a big fan of Sandra Antonelli because I love the originality of her stories, the freshness of her characters, her exemplary prose and the fact that they're all about people over 40 years old. Next to You is about breaking through. The heroine, Caroline, is determined to "grab life by the balls" after recovering from a sequence of about the worst things that can happe [...]

Life as William Murphy knows it changes drastically when a domestic dispute in a coffee shop ends up with spilt coffee on his very expensive shoes, especially after he discovers that his next-door neighbour is the one responsible for it. Throw in several ex-partners and everything goes for a tailspin. So much of the book is unusual: an albino male protagonist and a silver-screen-siren-like leading lady who are way past the 'acceptable' ages for romantic heroes and heroines, the very offside wit [...]

Great, great surprise, that’s what this book has been. I found it casually when I searched the word batman in a book’s blog. It’s my first book about forty/fifty aged (actually I learned this fact while I was reading) but I’m really happy I found it. The author knows how to show the start of a friendship between next-door neighbours, the intricate ways they interconnect. The main characters are so different but have so much in common you’ll be waiting for something to happen. The man ( [...]

When thinking about this story, the word that comes to mind is sweet. The main characters William and Caroline develop an unconventional romance that mirrors the old movies and TV shows that they love. The romance develops slowly enabling you to really understand and get to know the characters. In addition to great character development, the plot offers several twists and turns as we discover Caroline's secrets, and they are not at all what I was expecting. This book would have been a five star f [...]

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I had a hard time getting into this book. I read about 50 pages in, and just couldn't read any more- it was painful. This is the first time I have ever read an ARC and NOT read the whole thing through. I was just not invested in the story, nor was I really interested in the book or story line or the writing. This was just a fail for me. I really did try to keep reading, it was just very difficult. The synopsis of this book gave me [...]

So I normally don't believe in leaving a bad review but I got this from NetGalley so I have to review it. Here goes:I don't mind wordy authors but Antonelli is very wordy. Her sentences are long and convoluted and by the time the sentence ends I forgot what she was talking about. The characters were extremely stiff and the dialogue came off forced. It's like they were trying to be cool by using large words, which failed miserably.

Interesting storyI really liked the characters and the pace of them getting to know each other. I would've given the book at least a 4, if the book had been edited. I've been waiting for what seems like forever for Samdra Antonelli's next book and was disappointed. Please read her other books.

Next to you was an entertaining read that was very sweet. I enjoyed the slow building relationship between the two characters William and Caroline. thete were some twists within the book that I wasn't expected. This was a great read that had captivated me from the start
