Excited new possibilities for prayer and the move of God. Gives the feel that something is happening out there but then where is it for the rest of us?

A fantastic, well written, inspiring book on praying, on prayer and the history and future hopes of 24/7 prayer. I laughed, I cried and I was encouraged and equipped to push in and push on, to see His Kingdom come.

It was recommended Lent reading by the church I attend, and I loved it. Reminds you of some of the stories from Red Moon Rising so it can stand alone, but it is wonderful to see how the 24/7 movement is growing and changing lives around the world. Inspiring, and definitely a reference for my next sermon.

An amazing book on many levels. First an inspirational story of Pete and how God used an ordinary person to raise a movement to prayer. Second it is the story of that prayer movement how it grew and the supernatural encounters that are not weird. Third it is a story of those other ordinary people how God used them and what He accomplished through them. If this doesn't move you to prayer then probably nothing will. It is not formulaic it is not a how to prayer guide, it is a series of prayer stor [...]

I snagged this book on impulse, having heard about the 24-7 Prayer Movement and was curious to know more about it and how they view prayer. I opened the cover expecting to have my prayer life challenged and changed, to be touched by the stories Greig tells and to be transformed to be more active and intentional in my own prayers. This book fulfilled every expectation.I never felt like I was really missing out on not having read the first book in the series, which I understand chronicled the begi [...]

This book is an anomaly. For anyone like me, who is wanting to follow Jesus, the book is absolutely amazing. But, for anyone reading the book as part of an English class, I expect the book would be considered rather awful. The different viewpoints are entirely related to the difference between the content and the actual writing. The writing is rather poor, and reads like an extended blog. Thankfully, the living nature of this writing makes the book easy to read and captivating, so if you are int [...]

This is an inspiring and uplifting book, which I am reading in small bites. Not because it isn't easily digestible - it is. I'm reading small segments during my morning prayer and meditation. The problem is, I want to devour it all in one sitting, but I also want to make it last as long as possible.I recommend this book.Oops. I finished this ages ago but never got round to completing my review. Still, what I already wrote says it all really. An excellent book.

Often outrageous and deliberately provocative, yet supremely inspiring and challenging. What a great vision of prayer and, above all, Jesus. It stirs the heart with possibilities and a longing to know God better, as well as see his love poured out into our world.

This book demonstrates the power of prayer in a way that is accessible to every person. God is so majestic and holy and yet he often chooses the weak and dirty to make his glory known. As soon as I finished, I wanted to read it again.

"Some books are to be tasted, others are to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested", Francis Bacon. "Dirty Glory" for me fits into that last category and supplies incredible accounts of the impact of a prayer life that consumes our life while also showing how this transforms society. It's also an honest account of struggles associated with saying "yes" to God in some of the world's most dangerous and spiritually deprived regions on the planet. Pete Greig the self-titled "bewildered [...]

I spent a day with the author about 20 years ago. We shared the leading of a prayer day together. Since then he has founded a great global prayer movement yet he remains as approachable as he was then. This is part 2 of the story. Some glorious stories. Grieg's grasp of language is amazing. At times he writes like "The Message". He stays very humble, shares the sense of awe in what God has done and the question must be asked: how am I joining in prayer with the millions in this world who are cry [...]

Recently I left Jehovah`s Witnesses after several decades with them. I was in a dark place. I was looking for something up-building to read. I stumbled on this book after praying. Well, praise God; just what I needed. The first thing that came to my attention was how brilliant a writer Pete is. It was so entertaining. However, more importantly, through his experiences with the 24/7 movement, it brought home to me that God is working out a 'bigger narrative.' that is greater than any organisation, [...]

There are few books I would read again and again. (Including John Ortberg's If You Want To Walk On Water, CS Lewis Mere Christianity, HV Morton In The Steps of the Master.) But I would reread chapter one of this book, Punk Messiah to keep in focus just what is meant by the incarnation. This book is incredibly well written, just as Pete Greig is an excellent speaker. It's the story of his journey and that of the 24/7 prayer movement. It has challenged me to not make myself too comfortable where I [...]

This book. 10 years ago, we began a prayer room while reading Red Moon Rising, (his first book). Now, reading Dirty Glory, has ignited the passion and the vision again to keep burning. Prayer, mission and justice - doing what God has called us to do. Watch and Pray, go and do. Not just sit and wait. READ THE BOOK.

If you enjoyed Red Moon Rising, you will like this follow up. Pete Grieg has an engaging style and his stories of the 24-7 prayer movement as well as chapters on the history of the Moravian church and the Methodist founding of the Foundery are uplifting and flow very well.

Good book, inspiring true stories of answered prayer. Offers hope in a world where hope is in short supply. I felt that it started dragging in the last third--it might have benefited from a tighter edit. But very worth reading.

Challenging read. This is far more than just the story of 24-7 prayer but a story of honest, gritty faith in real trials and how Jesus transforms His church when she focusses on Him and His will. Recommended.

A very challenging, powerfully written book. Your heart gets so challenged but pushed to do more! Amazing real life stories, a very inspirational book for all who have Faith in God to do amazing things!

I loved this book - it messed with me in all the right ways, and helped me to see God in bigger ways. It definitely met me in the season I find myself in, and it was such an encouragement. I loved how theology was reinforced with stories of how God was/is on the move.

Fantastic, inspiring Beautifully written, compelling, breath taking, life changing read. Couldn't get enough. Excellent book. Recommend highly. Looking forward to the next

This is the best book I have read in a long time. It is both gripping and challenging. Pete's language and style is invigorating and interesting. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Inspiring stories of Gods work and people's struggles and hopes in the 24/7 prayer movement. Real, motivating and honest.

"Dirty Glory" is made of different stories from the life of a minister who has been working on 24-7 prayer for 15 years. To understand them better it is good to know more about the ministry itself. I did not know about it, so it was difficult to read them, every other page is jumping from place to place, around the world and back, these stories are a bit disjointed to me. I definitely see this book made into a movie, it would be a lot easier to follow it with visual effects.

"Dirty Glory" by Pete Greig is the second book in the Red Moon Chronicles. With fifteen years experience working with 24-7 prayer, Greig shares many more stories and adventures from this movement. The stories meander all over the globe, with powerful testimonies of the work of God coming from all over. The book is broken down in five separate sections: Presence, Prayer, Mission, Justice, and Joy. The chapters in each section share insights, Scriptures, and stories that pertain to each particular [...]
