I really like the "voice" of this toddler in the "Baby" series of short stories. I'm giving this one 4.5 stars rounded up to 5, simply because the ending seemed to happen too quickly. But the situation and the unusual POV make this short story well worth reading. I hope the author will write more and combine them in a book length collection sometime. They're that good!

Need a quick mood lifter? Join one little girl's quest for the coolest costume. Cuteness doesn't fail Claire! Guaranteed to make you smile :)

Thoughtful use of WordsThe Baby is very observant and understands her family well even if she does not yet express herself to them. A very funny quick read about the inner workings of a young toddlers mind. The Baby takes you on an adventure of how she gets her message across for the ultimate Halloween costume that represents her needs. Silly and cute that can be enjoyed by all ages.

These shorts need a compilation! They're so funny and heartwarming that I want more! You fall in love with the baby and know what she's thinking makes so much sense. At the same time, you cheer for her every step of the way and know the same thoughts are probably going through your toddler's head too! More, more, more please!

Wonderful story and funny!Story recounts Baby Claire's adventure to get the costume she wants with limited words to use. I was laughing out loud at Claire's thoughts and what she wished to communicate but had to find ways to show her wishes without words. This line is just one of the many that had me laughing out loud: "Not that I mind screaming. I'm good at it. That's one of the reasons I don't talk much. You don't really need words when you have volume."
