Review of Greenwood Tree by L.J. ClaytonWe think of the nineteen-twenties and thirties as the ‘golden’ age of British mystery writing, and in Greenwood Tree B.Lloyd has not only set her novel in the period but brought it back to life through a vivid display of character and place. So much so, she might, like her lady detective, have travelled back in time. For Greenwood Tree is not only a mystery novel, but a book of myth and the supernatural.Julia Frobisher-Warren, amateur sleuth and crime [...]

The secondary characters are also wonderfully described and I think these personalities are what give the novel such depth. [...]

I choose this book for our Book club. None of us could finish it! I wouldn't even give it one star!
