It runs through a text of a standard day visiting grandpa - but something is a little odd.The text never describes any aspect of the house, but oh boy, the illustrations sure do. Is it the tiger being fed in a highchair? The dog playing a card game with them (all the cards are the 8 of hearts, and grandpa cheats, which is probably how he always wins)? The cowboys in the living room?Every page is full, simply full of tiny details and big details that are strange, unusual, or just a little weird. [...]

In the book, "Bamboozled", a little girl visits her grandfathers house for tea as usual. Only it is not the usual day in this topsy turvy house her crazy grandfather lives in. The little girl cannot find out what is different in the house. The grandfathers house is no ordinary house, the house is filled with different things, such as painting's coming to life, zoo animals all around the house, and interesting things decorating the walls. The illustrations in this book are outstanding and very de [...]

What a wonderfully illustrated book. I read it to my 2 year old granddaughter but I think I got more out of it than she did. Each reading there is more to see in the fantastical drawings. This house that Grandpa lives in is like a modern day enchanted castle. Nothing is as it seems. a watch has hour glass an egg timer on it, a table is on a skateboard, all the cards in a card game are 8s of hearts, wooden spoons and rolling pins are in the fire. Every inch has some amazing quirky addition. Grand [...]

Bamboozled by David Legge is a book about a little girl that goes to visit her grandfather at his house. This is a weekly visit, where she ever so often eats and drinks tea with her grandfather. She also helped him with chores around the house, but this time it was a little different. She realized that something during this visit was much different but she could not make up her mind what. At the very end of the story, she finally decided what was different about this vista, but it was completely [...]

This book has amazing pictures with a variety of things in them that can keep children occupied for a long time. The book has animals in them, and several things wrong in the room that children can point out. There are also several household chores that children might be able to identify with. It is a really cultured book that has everyday life built into it, and makes the book seem memorable.

Bamboozled by David Legge is a post modern picture book about a young girl who visited her grandfather for the weekend. Something about this visit though seems different to her. The pictures show the house as a trick house, but in the end the girl says its because the grandfather is wearing mismatching socks. The illustration and the text are very different which makes the the drawing very important to the story. On one page, the text says that the girl is planting bulbs in the garden, but it do [...]

A young girl visits her Grandpa who lives in a very strange house and is puzzled by his mismatched socks. The illustrations are very interesting.

This is my ultimate favourite children's book!!!I absolutely love the illustrations and the creativity behind it. I rave on about it all the time and don't know how many times I've borrowed it when I was a kid!

Throughout the book the reader gets to enjoy 3D pictures that are filled with color. The reader gets to explore the different areas of the grandfather's house and see the unusual decorations in his house. This book is a great read for young children because it is very entertaining with minimal text. This story has different elements of a post-modern picture book. The story has an [...]

AMAZING!! i love this book! The water color pictures are so vibrant that it tells the whole story! This story is about a boy who goes to visit his grandfather at his house. Everything is so odd. There is a tiger being fed in a high chair, there is a dog playing a card game at a table, and there is cowboys in the living room! strange? very. However, this book is so intriguing. I cannot explain how much the illustrations give the book a whole different vibe. Children will definitely enjoy reading [...]

Who doesn't like a trip to grandpas house? This trip is not your typically trip, grandpa has a completely different way of doing things. This story was a lot of fun to read, I really enjoyed this fun and crazy story. The illustrations are what brought this story to life. I think that children would really enjoy reading this story and looking at the pictures. Its a fun twist on a typical visit to grandpas house and children love going to grandpas. The pictures through out the story can keep child [...]

I loved this entertaining book because of the wonderful, interesting, and strange illustrations! I think children would really enjoy it because it allows them to be very imaginative. It reminds me of the "I-Spy" series of books I loved as a child, where in this case it is something that is silly that the reader is supposed to find within the pictures. The story is about a visit to grandpa's house and is very fun!

Pure fun! This is a perfect book to read and share with a group of children when you all just need a laugh. It can be read over and over as there is much to see in the illustrations. It's the story of a girl who visits her quirky grandad and think something is up. As we move through the illustrations and the story there are many oddities, but none of these are what really is up. I'll leave it to you to find out!

This is a an exciting picture book with tons to look at. Children will love to look and talk to you about all of the crazy stuff happening on each page. Make sure you have some time when you read this one. It is not a quick let's get you into bed read. I love books like this that get kids to talking and expressing themselves.

I checked this out from the library yesterday - as I thumbed through it, there are great illustrations - I look forward to reading this book with my 7 year old.My 7 year old thought this book was great and loved the illustrations! My 9 year old did not like the book.

A fabulous, everything mixed-up pictures for kids to pore over. Great for April Fool's day. Some of the oddities in the pictures include grass growing on the carpet, headlights on the easy chair, people or items hanging out of picture frames, non-pet animals inside the house, etc, etc.

Bamboozled is also a great postmodern children's book to read to children. It is different in the sense that when the young girl visit's her grandfather, they mow the rug, and poor tea into the flower pots. It has humor in it which children will really enjoy.

My teacher used to have this in year 4 and I LOVED it!!! It would just sit and stare at it for ages. It really stimulates the brain like I spy books and also has a story like any other picture book. It's so fascinating and well thought out. 5 stars.

One of my favorite children's books. I must have read it to my kids 100 times and found something new in the artwork almost every time I read it.

No one else at the Bay Farm library could ever get their hands on this book because I ALWAYS checked it out.

I'm changing my rating to 5 stars, which it deserved after we took the time to go through the pages one at a time and really explore the funny and creative illustrations.

I loved this book as a kid. I would read it over and over again and I would always find something new. Wish I still had it.

My six year old loved looking at the pictures of the strange things going on a t Grandpa's house. I didn't enjoy it as much, because it was too busy.

Outstanding. Wickedly clever good fun capable of entrancing young and old alike.Puzzle-styled illustrations support a simple unreliable narrative that invites repeated scrutiny. Highly recommended.
