Slowly, I have built up a nice stack of graphic novels. Lately, I've been grabbing one from the top, at random. If I had flipped through this before beginning, I probably would not have begun in the first place. I seem to be gravitating towards horror gns more than ever and this is a prime example of the mediocrity currently available. I'm finding that most have little if any character devlopement, that the entire point rests in the blood spilt and fear felt. The big reveal of the monster or the [...]

Not a bad horror comic but there's not really much to it. Vampire story featuring abducted girls imprisoned in an abandoned house. Probably would work just as well if not better as a movie. Art's not bad either. Nothing out of the ordinary but still entertaining.

'Cut' is the story of Meagen, a young women who has recently woken up in an old decreped room alone. Even though her memories are vague, she pieces together that she was abducted by a mysterious creature after having a fight, with her now ex-boyfriend, because she caught him having sex with someone else at a concert. Meagen soon realises that she is not alone as she finds a fellow abductee by the name of Anita. What do these girls have in common? Well, the only visible connection is that they bo [...]

An original graphic novel from Dark Horse written by founder Mike Richardson with art by Todd Herman and Al Milgrom. This is a fairly standard horror tale that delivers chills rather than gore. The book is printed in a strange physical size - just over half the size of a normal comic book - and this smaller size means that there is less space available to develop the story fully. There is some attempt to give some immediate back story to the two women abducted in the tale but is not enough to bui [...]

The art is what drew me in on this one, no pun intended. Seriously, I hate puns. The story left me a little cold, as it comes off like one of the short Twilight Zone episodes that you hope will go one way but they go all ambiguous, and you finish and it's like, "Okay" It's the sort of thing you wish you could just find at a bus stop or in a lobby waiting room or something, because you would have spent otherwise wasted time in a wonderful way.

I enjoyed this book and it was a fun little read. The story development was good, but it would have been much creepier if the baddie had more visual mystery. What you don't see is always scarier

A short story that offers a look at the vampire-is-monster mythos. Too short a story to form any opinion. It had interesting characters and premise. But underdeveloped.

A small book, well crafted and visually striking. The reader is very effectively kept in the dark until more than halfway through, cranking the tension up to eleven. Very unnerving.
