Review posted at Brief Encounters Reviews.Simeon is half-gargoyle and still grieving for the loss of his love, Brice, the man who he gave his foundation to. Now, to add insult to injury, on Lover’s Day, the day that new couples hire a gargoyle to add protections on new homes and bind their new homes into their new lives and love, Simeon is having to give up the one home he’d always wanted, and hoped to live in with Brice. The old run down church has been renovated and is now in all it’s gl [...]

I enjoyed this short, but I was left with some questions about the world the author created.I would love to read more about what happened before Brice ran from Simeon's revelation that he was his foundation. ( what exactly does that mean) They both had magic, what kind was Brice's well you understand, I just wanted morewhich is actually a very good sign, and I would definiltyn read more stories set in this world.

reviewed for heartsonfirereviewsOh Simeon. What can I say about you, other than I wish this short story had been five times longer. I loved him. He is a half-gargoyle who places protection spells over locations. In this specific case, it is a Victorian house. A house that he has wanted for his own for years, a house he had been saving to purchase, hoping to share with Brice, the man he declared his Foundation, the man he loved with his entire being, the man who ran from him. The man who was okay [...]

Half-gargoyle, Simeon, gave his heart away to his lover, Brice, who ran after he learned the truth of what Simeon was. Then the day comes when he has to give up his dream house to a couple who bought it only to find out that it was Brice and another women who bought it. It was a nice story a bit heart wrenching mixed with sweet. I would love to read an extended version or rewrite of the story to get a better feel for the characters and more world development.

So, it started and then it ended. Almost immediately. Shame, really, beacuse it could've been my kind of read. The ending was kind of all over the place and confusing. Also, I personally dislike the sassy bff/meddling sister characters and this had the latter. Double the word count and some clearing up and I would've given it a solid three stars.

LOVED this, but thought it was a bit short to just be thrown into the story and having to understand the characters and some of the words used. I would love to read more with these two and set in this verse.

Just too short to write a long review. It is hard to write a short story which still pulls you in beside the length. This one didn't because it left too much open and unanswered. But it was not too bad.

Awwwww, I liked this! Simeon <3! I want more of him and Brice. I like the world the author created and want to know more.

I loved this loved the setting. As in her other work Love & Wrath, I hope the author writes more stories in this universe.
