    This is a solid ethnographic account of all the important aspects of khat in Madagascar. The production and use of khat in Madagascar has not been much in focus regarding this psychoactive plant, but khat was introduced by Yemeni dock workers during the French colonial period. Later on the "creoles" started to produce khat commercially and it is now an important crop in the north of the country.
