This is really 2.5 stars. I go back and forth on this book, but the fact that I dreaded reading it downgraded it to two stars. *EDIT* I upgraded it to three stars for the interesting perspective this gave me on Africa and because I felt evil for rounding down. The Fires of New Sun continues the story of the Blending Time, about a bunch of kids from dystopian North America (or NorthAm) to be part of the Blending Program. It's a system to set up to hopefully repopulate Africa and to get some of the [...]

The concept was intriguing and the plot was plausible. However, the writing was rough, constantly interrupting the flow of the story with irritating errors, and the characters weren’t believable, acting in ways they shouldn’t have and saying things no real person would say out loud. It was well thought-out, but it could have done with a lot of refining.

Four and a half stars. Continues the action from the first book and ramps it up several notches. This is a page-turner that's also well written, and with real character development. I'm looking forward to the third book.

Gets a little lost in detail so there were parts I skipped ahead to get back to the moving story. Overall this book is amazing and very well recommended.

2nd in a series. The Blenders have had to leave their villages and join up at a New Sun outpost. Here they must make a stand against the 'gades.

I am really enjoying this series. i love the insight of africa a i have fallen in love with the characters.
